As a Salesforce Architect and developer, I’ll admit that I have a soft spot for the platform.

But when I explore for Salesforce alternatives, I can’t locate any. As a result, for a variety of reasons, I am certain that every SMB (Small and Medium Business) requires a Salesforce setup.

And let me explain why.

Salesforce.com’s offerings are divided into two categories: business products and a PaaS platform.

The primary offerings in terms of Business Products are the Sales Cloud, the Service Cloud, and the Marketing Cloud. All of these fundamental Business Products are concerned with attracting and retaining consumers. This is the most important part of every company’s emphasis. Because of this, Salesforce becomes relevant to every company…period.

Are there any others?

Are there other companies with a similar customer focus? Undoubtedly, there are CRM companies such as SugarCRM and Zoho that also prioritize customer-centricity and offer a robust set of CRM capabilities. Moreover, these solutions may be more cost-effective.

However, when evaluating Salesforce against alternatives like Zoho and SugarCRM, it’s important to consider the scalability factor. As your business expands, Salesforce has the capability to handle the increasing complexity and volume that your organization will encounter. Unlike the other solutions, Salesforce can evolve from a basic CRM system to a comprehensive ERP solution, supporting multiple internal and customer-facing applications built on the App Cloud.
